Leon Beswick

Managing Director

Leon has ten years experience implementing successful health communication campaigns for major pharmaceutical and biotech companies, as well as professional associations and health technology organisations.

His experience extends to the most significant reimbursement campaigns over the last 10 years.

Before forming Ogilvy PR Health, Leon was a Director at the public affairs agency, Parker & Partners, where he developed a strong understanding of the role and influence government has in healthcare.

Leon has a strong understanding in health, as well as issues around the reimbursement processes that many campaigns often seek to influence.

Importantly Leon’s insights into Government come from a background in politics when he worked as a policy adviser in the office of then Minister for Health and Aged Care, the Hon Dr Michael Wooldridge and as a health policy adviser with then Victorian Premier, the Hon Jeff Kennett.

Leon is a Director with the Australian Institute of Policy & Science.

Michelle Parker

Senior Account Manager

Michelle Parker is a specialist in public relations and public affairs event management, communications and media in the healthcare space.

With an advertising background, she has a keen sense of the creative influences that are able to connect with a cross section of audiences.

With over 20 years experience in the communications industry and multi-media, Michelle has also run her own highly successful business in media and communications.

She has been involved in many communication campaigns for prominent government, media and corporate clients.

Tania Jayesuria

Account Manager

Tania Jayesuria has over four years experience working in the healthcare public relations and media space. During this time Tania has worked with a numerous of pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organisations.

Before commencing with Ogilvy PR Health, Tania worked in the healthcare practice at Professional Public Relations (PPR), where she led several extensive media and PR campaigns. Prior to this, Tania was employed by Australia’s leading public affairs specialists, Parker & Partners, working on a range of targeted healthcare campaigns in the public affairs space.

Previously, Tania also gained experience in politics and the bureaucracy when she worked in the public affairs unit of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, gaining exposure to major policy issues such as the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

Tania has a strong understanding of health policy and issues, media relations and the Australian health media landscape and has worked across a range of disease areas including oncology, cardiovascular disease, obesity, respiratory disease, mental health, gastrointestinal disease, sexual health and rare diseases.

Tania holds a Degree in Communications from the University of Canberra, where she specialised in Public Relations and Marketing.

Stephen Richardson

Account Manager

Stephen has over five years experience working in public relations and public affairs for a variety of clients from the pharmaceutical, biotech and health technology sectors. Before joining Ogilvy PR Health, Stephen worked for Australia’s leading public affairs firm - Parker & Partners - where he gained experience on many government reimbursement projects, product launches and public awareness campaigns.

With a background in journalism, Stephen has a thorough understanding of the types of issues that resonate with the public, and how to structure effective communication campaigns across all media – press, broadcast and digital.

Before moving to Sydney, Stephen spent time living and working in regional Australia, so has a unique appreciation of the issues affecting people outside of the capital cities, particularly around access to medical treatments and services.

A graduate of Deakin University where he studied Arts/Science, his strengths include strong research skills, attention to detail and grasping scientific concepts in a public relations context.

Dr Daniella Goldberg PhD

Senior Account Manager

Daniella has a strong background in medical research, communications and the media. Prior to joining Ogilvy PR Health, she was head of the health and life sciences team at Buchan Consulting, specialising in the development and implementation of stakeholder communication campaigns for biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical companies. She also has experience in consumer health and lifestyle campaigns, as well as animal and rural health.

Over the past ten years, Daniella has produced science programs for radio and television, including ABC Radio and TV, Beyond 2000, and an educational biotechnology series.  She was the news editor of Australian Biotechnology News and her work has been published in a range of newspapers and magazines including Medical Observer, Business Review Weekly, The Australian and New Scientist.

Daniella is on the executive committee for the NSW Stem Cell Network, a member of the Australian Science Communicators and one of the founders of "Science in the Pub". She has a PhD in Molecular Biology and Medicine from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and the University of NSW and a Diploma in Communications from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Kevin Silverman

Account Manager

Kevin Silverman joined Ogilvy PR Health, having spent six years in the healthcare group of Ogilvy PR in New York. During his tenure, he has provided global and U.S. communications support and disease awareness initiatives for some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies including Bayer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Dey, GlaxoSmithKline and Merck in the areas of diabetes, men’s health, oncology, respiratory disease and pain management.

In addition to his product based experience, Kevin’s background includes creating and facilitating programs to promote corporate social responsibility and patient access programs for the BMS Foundation.

Kevin also helped plan and implement the Take A Swing Against Prostate Cancer program, an unbranded disease awareness program designed to increase consumer knowledge of prostate cancer, which was an unprecedented partnership between the U.S.’s Major League Baseball (MLB), MLB.com and the National Prostate Cancer Coalition, with support from Merck.

Kevin graduated Magna Cum Laude (high honours) from New York University with a B.S. in Communications.

Cori McLeod

Consultant

Cori began working with Ogilvy PR Health in April 2008 after completing an internship during 2007.

Graduating from Charles Sturt University with a degree in Public Relations and Organisational Communication, she is looking forward to working with and learning from the rest of the Ogilvy PR Health team.

Cori has a strong research and development focus within the agency.
